Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

1. Introduction

Mada Alert lets people report safety incidents in their area and see what others have reported nearby, pinned to a map. This policy explains what information is used to provide those features and how to contact us about your data.

2. Information We Collect

Mada Alert may store account profile data, authentication identifiers, the incident reports you submit (category, title, description, the time you say it happened, and whether you chose to post anonymously), the location coordinates you attach to a report, photos you attach as evidence, the confirmations or disputes you cast on other reports, and your app preferences such as language, theme, and your saved home area.

When you use Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In, we may receive your account identifier, name, email address, and profile image when that provider makes those fields available.

Location. Mada Alert uses your device location only while the app is open and only when you ask it to, so it can place the pin for a report you are writing or centre the map on where you are. It is never collected in the background and the app never tracks your movements. You can also place a pin manually without granting location access at all.

Photos. Photos are read from your library only when you pick them yourself to attach to a report. The app never scans or uploads your library.

3. How We Use Data

We use your data to publish the reports you submit to other users nearby, show them on the map and in the feed, build the heat map and area insights, remember your preferences, and let you manage or delete your own reports.

4. Storage And Security

Report data is stored through Prisma-backed APIs in Supabase PostgreSQL and served through the Mada Alert backend on Google Cloud Run. Authentication uses Firebase Authentication. Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS.

5. Third-Party Services

The app uses Firebase Authentication, Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, Supabase PostgreSQL, and Google Cloud Run. We do not use advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking in this app.

Google Analytics for Firebase — counts how the app is used: an app-instance identifier created when the app is installed, the screens you open, session length, app version, device model, operating system, and an approximate location (country and city) derived from your IP address. The app does not use the advertising ID, and this data is not used for advertising or to track you across other apps.

Firebase Crashlytics — reports crashes so we can fix them: the crash log, the state of the app and the device at that moment (device model, operating system version, free memory), and a Crashlytics installation identifier.

Usage statistics and crash reports are not linked to your account: we never send your name, email address or account identifier to these two services.

6. Data Sharing

Reports you submit are public inside the app. The category, title, description, time, location and any photos you attach are shown to other Mada Alert users near that location. Your display name is attached unless you choose to report anonymously. Do not include information in a report that you do not want other people to see.

Alerts from public sources. Some alerts are taken from notices posted publicly on social networks, such as missing-person and theft notices in community groups. Each one names its author and links to the original post. If a notice about you or written by you should be removed, contact us and we will remove it.

Beyond that, we do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers needed to run authentication, database storage and backend hosting, or when required by law.

7. Children's Privacy

Mada Alert is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will help remove it.

8. Your Rights

You can request access, correction, export, or deletion of your data by contacting support. You can delete individual reports at any time from inside the app, and you can delete your entire account and all associated reports from the profile screen.

9. Changes To This Policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. If an update materially affects how your data is handled, we will provide notice through the app, website, or support channel when practical.
